GeneID Lab is the leading provider of pharmacogenomic testing (PGx) in the senior living space. We are presently active in over 5,000 communities nationwide (SNF/AL/MC). PGx testing is recognized, approved and covered by CMS (since December 2021) as a valuable tool to be used for improving medication therapy and reducing adverse drug outcomes. Impacted medications include psychotropics, opioids, cardiac, PPIs among others; drugs that are highly prescribed, associated with adverse events and subject to regulatory scrutiny. Our unique turnkey solution uses proprietary software to identify eligible residents and deliver actionable recommendations without creating work for staff or disturbing existing workflows. Allowing us to: - Reduce polypharmacy - Reduce adverse drug reactions, falls and hospitalizations - Improve stewardship of psychotropic and pain medications - Provide a zero cost (to patient or community) program to personalize care and improve outcomes. GeneID Lab’s PGx solution and its fall reduction outcomes is especially relevant considering CMS’ January guidance for State Survey Agency Directors that identified fall prevalence as a metric to use in the selection of Special Focus Facilities. The memo states that, “CMS is revising the focus area for selection to emphasize the prevalence of falls among the resident population when considering facilities for SFF selection.”
